tea in the park

Everyone is welcome in Garnethill Park, but we’d like to invite you for tea! Join us on Thursday afternoons in the park where we will be taking up some space, enjoying a cup of tea or coffee and doing a little bit of park clean up.

Litterpickers are available to use, everyone is welcome to sit, chat or play, children are welcome, as well as dogs on a lead. Let the children play!

3:30 - 5pm on Thursdays in term time
Next date is Thursday October 8th
> Meet in Garnethill Park, by the children's play area

Free tea and coffee is provided, please bring your own cup if you can.

THE GARNETHILL CHILDREN’S MOSAIC

The Garnethill Park mosaic needs some love. The local community is keen to remove the paint and graffiti to reveal and restore the mosaic underneath. We plan to have regular cleaning sessions - all welcome!

Please help us do the work! Feel free to bring your child, granny or friends - there is something for everyone to do. All materials provided. The latest sessions in the diary are:

10-2pm Sunday September 20th
12-2pm Sunday October 4th
> Meet in Garnethill Park, by the mosaic
(next to children’s playpark)

Please check back as more dates will be added soon. If you would like to help host a session, you’d like to volunteer or you’d like to know more, please email us and we can help.

AUTUMN HOME FROM HOME 2026

Please come along to our next Home From Home event!
We will be creating a tablecloth together and we are always looking for musicians to play at the events. Get in touch if you have questions or would like to perform.

5-7pm
Saturday 21st November 2026
Upstairs hall of the Garnethill Multicultural Centre
21 Rose street, Glasgow, G3 6RE

ALL WELCOME!
Free activities, music and food with your friends and neighbours!

WHAT TO EXPECT
It’s a warm, welcoming atmosphere with free food - there are always vegan and vegetarian options. Generous local businesses like Antipasti and Sprigg provide food for the event, but many locals also bring home made curries, salads and sweet treats. Local musicians play a range of multicultural tunes and there is often a chance to take part in an activity or to play an instrument yourself. There is a piano at the venue as well as an amp.

Let us know if you’d like to perform, or just tell us when you arrive. You can also just come along to Home From Home to sit quietly and enjoy the music and food. The whole point is to feel at home. See some photos of past events here.
